SET APART Bible Club >
Guidelines
In starting your SET APART Bible
Club, you need to acquaint yourself with the following guidelines.
Venue
Your home or the home of one of the children (if allowed) should be used
as the venue. If there are large number of children, the inside of a house should be avoided. A community center, school or even an open place
like shaded portion of the yard or park can be made use of.
There should be a
fixed venue to avoid confusion.
An easily
accessible venue should be used.
Day and Time
The day of the week and time chosen for your SET APART Bible Club should
be a convenient time for you (and your helper if any) and, of course,
for your host family. Note that it will be unwise to keep changing the
meeting day and time, so prayerfully choose it.
Helper
It is important that you get a helper to assist you in running your SET
APART Bible Club – Neighborhood Set-up. While you minister, your helper
can usher in the children, take attendance record, etc. Your helper
maybe a coordinator as well. In that case, you can alternate the
ministration weekly. That is, one person will minister, while the other
assist and vice versa.
Take off Date
You need to decide (with your helper if any) on the take-off date.
Give sufficient time to:
- Acquaint yourself with the SET APART Resources to be used.
- Invite the children.
- Pray for the success of your SET APART Bible Club.
Study
You need to download the SET APART Resources you will be using and get
yourself familiar with it. It is important that you go through the
How to use the Curriculums, the
lessons, and the
SET APART Child
Weekly.
Invitation
You need to inform and invite children to become members of your SET
APART Bible Club. There is an
Invitation Brochure you
may use to introduce the SET APART
Bible Club to the parents. The
Invitation Brochure
contains information
about your SET APART Bible Club, the vision, features, and
involvement expectation from the children.
Naming
You are at liberty to name your SET APART Bible Club (e.g. General
Gas SET APART Bible Club, Joy SET APART Bible Club, Hanover SET APART
Bible Club, etc).
Age of Children
The minimum age level should be 6 years because it is essentially a
discipleship meeting. The maximum age should be 12 years. However, you
may allow few younger children and lower teens as an exception and not the rule. You should
target to graduate the children who have attained the age of 13 years
after the completion of the SET APART Resource you are using.
This should involve praying for them to send then forth. Note: if you
are presenting gifts, you must be willing to continue the practice. Do
not set any precedence you will be unable to continue with.
Visitation
You should endeavor to know the residence of each child in the club. You
should make time to visit each child at least once and as may be needful
especially in case of prolonged or unusual absence. All visits should be
subject to the Holy Spirit guidance through prayer. All visits should be
conducted in godly wisdom and a high level of proprietary.
Finance
No regular offering should be collected from the children in your SET
APART Bible Club. This is mainly to prevent sending any wrong signal to
parents/guardians of children attending your SET APART Bible Club.
However, if any child/parent desires on his own to bring an offering, it
should not be discouraged. If your Special Meetings will involve
expenses beyond you, you may inform the children’s parents of the need.
No one should be pressured into giving and no child should be excluded
from participating for any financial reasons. All record of incomes and
expenses should be kept for integrity purposes. You are accountable to
the Lord and the contributors.
Fruitfulness
You will find that as you start and operate your SET APART Bible Club,
you will start to experience fruitfulness in every aspect of your life.
Your spiritual life will grow as you faithfully disciple the children in
your SET APART Bible Club. The Word of God you are ministering to the
children will transform your own life as well. In ministering to other
people’s children, God will give you and bless your own biological
children in return.
As you use your resources to download the SET APART Resources for use in your SET APART Bible Club, God will not only ensure
that you have the means to do this but that you do not lack financially.
The joy of seeing the children in your SET APART Bible Club affecting
their generation for Christ by living for God and the testimonies and
appreciations from their parents can be very rewarding.
Most importantly, you will be fulfilling God’s purpose for your life
through your SET APART Bible Club and there awaits a crown of
righteousness in addition to all the reward that God has provided for
every faithful steward both in this life and in the life to come.
